Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly withdrawn his candidacy for a ministerial role in President Bola Tinubu's administration.
According to an exclusive report by Premium Times, sources within the presidency have indicated that El-Rufai conveyed his decision to President Tinubu, expressing his change of heart regarding the ministerial position. Despite this, El-Rufai assured President Tinubu of his commitment to contribute to the progress and advancement of Nigeria in his capacity as a private citizen.
In a surprising move, El-Rufai also put forth a replacement candidate for President Tinubu's consideration. The sources disclosed that El-Rufai suggested Jafaru Ibrahim Sani as his successor from Kaduna State, emphasizing Sani's potential to be an invaluable asset. Jafaru Ibrahim Sani had previously served as a commissioner under El-Rufai's leadership during his tenure as Kaduna governor.
