Chelsea FC suffered another difficult defeat on Thursday, as they were beaten 4-1 by Manchester United at Old Trafford, securing United's spot in the UEFA Champions League for the next season.
Manchester United took control of the game early on, scoring two goals in the first half.
They extended their lead further after Christian Pulisic, the American winger for Chelsea, came on as a substitute in the 64th minute.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, Pulisic, who has had a frustrating season, showed determination and refused to back down.
A clash between Pulisic and Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea drew attention during the match. As they both jumped to reach a deep cross, they collided in mid-air. United defender Victor Lindelof pushed Pulisic, and De Gea joined in, expressing his disapproval with a wagging finger towards the American player.
It's debatable whether Pulisic's actions actually motivated Chelsea, but shortly after the incident, the Blues managed to score a goal. João Félix, a substitute for Chelsea, found the net in the 89th minute, providing a small consolation for the visiting team.
Pulisic's performance during his 26-minute appearance was disappointing once again.
He had minimal involvement, with only eight touches and a single attempted shot. With just one goal from 23 Premier League appearances this season, it seems likely that Pulisic's time at Chelsea is coming to an end.
The team's position in the bottom half of the league table and the anticipated summer shake-up in the transfer market further indicate that changes are on the horizon for Chelsea.
