"Atiku Calls for Rejection of APC Candidates in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa"

Ahead of the upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 11 in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi States, Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has made an appeal to the electorate, urging them to support and vote for PDP candidates. In a video message released on Wednesday, the former vice president criticized the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in these states, labeling them as puppets controlled by powerful political figures.

Atiku expressed concern about the growing dissatisfaction and resentment among the public regarding the alleged lack of transparency by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the previous general elections. However, he emphasized that this should not lead citizens to lose faith in democracy.

He stressed that the goal of defeating anti-democratic elements within the political landscape could only be achieved if the residents of these three states turn out in large numbers to vote for the PDP candidates on election day. Atiku passionately appealed to the people of Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi to participate actively in the upcoming elections by voting for the PDP candidates.

He highlighted the notable achievements of some PDP candidates, including Governor Duoye Diri in Bayelsa, Senator Dino Melaye in Kogi, and Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu in Imo. Atiku praised their contributions to their respective constituencies, citing infrastructure development, social progress, and strong grassroots connections as some of their notable qualities.

Atiku concluded by drawing a sharp contrast between the PDP and their main rival, the APC, asserting that the APC candidates in these three states are widely seen as mere instruments of influential political figures, both within and outside the states.
