United's victory sets up the first all-Manchester FA Cup final against City, who beat Sheffield United 3-0 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi praised his team despite the wayward penalty from Solly March that ended their dream of reaching the final.
