Court Mandates Shatta Wale to Settle N100 Million and Additional Damages to Wildaland Festival Organizers

In a recent court ruling, Shatta Wale has been directed to pay a sum of $120,000 (N100 million) to Maverick City Entertainment, the organizers of the Wildaland Festival. The court further mandated the Dancehall sensation to pay interest on the $120,000 from December 14, 2021, until the final payment date, with the interest rate set at 5.5%. 

According to reports from Nydjlive.com, the court order was served through substituted service. Olele Salvador also noted that the accrued interest is estimated to be $10,000.

The legal action stems from Shatta Wale's failure to perform at the Wildaland Festival, which took place at the Shai Hills in 2021. Despite having received the full payment of $120,000 for the scheduled performance, the artist did not fulfill his commitment. This development has led to the court's intervention, compelling Shatta Wale to settle the outstanding amount along with the accrued interest.
