Through his X page (previously Twitter) @renoomokri, the socio-political commentator alleged that Ajaero's presence in Imo state was related to his campaign for the Labour Party candidate, Athan Achonu, in the recently concluded Imo governorship election. Omokri implied that Ajaero's call for the strike might be rooted in his disappointment over losing the off-cycle election in Imo state. Expressing his perspective, Omokri questioned the rationale behind disrupting the entire nation due to a singular incident involving one person in one state, especially when Ajaero's visit was ostensibly for political campaigning in the #ImoDecides2023 election. He raised the inquiry of whether the strike was a manifestation of Ajaero's frustration at losing his home state once again.
