Unveiling the Behind-the-Scenes of Xavier Ighorodje's Latest Series, 'Anatomy of a Predator'

Renowned Netflix show creator Xavier Ighorodje is back with another exciting series after the success of "Shanty Town." The upcoming project, titled "Anatomy of a Predator," is a thrilling five-part drama set during the Christmas season, known for its chaotic nature. Collaborating with Mobola Rahman, Ighorodje describes the show as a captivating whodunit with dark comedy elements.

The story revolves around Bolanle Rodriguez, a celebrated author, who decides to host a Christmas gathering for her friends in her luxurious Ikoyi mansion. Little do they know that chaos and karma lurk behind the closed doors of the mansion.

During an exclusive interview with Pulse, Ighorodje shares the concept, inspirations, and casting choices for the upcoming project. He explains that the idea for "Anatomy of a Predator" stemmed from his previous show, "Big Book of Lies," which he produced under tight budget constraints. Wanting to find creative ways to cut costs, he came up with the concept of friends being invited to a house to escape, instead of hosting a bridal shower. This led to about 90% of the action taking place in one central location.

In terms of inspiration, Ighorodje mentions watching mystery films like "Knives Out," "Glass Onions," and "Murder on the Orient Express" while developing his show. These movies helped him shape the elements of the whodunit genre in his series.

Regarding the audience's expectations, Ighorodje emphasizes that his primary goal is to deliver wildly entertaining stories. He mentions that the show is suitable for the whole family to enjoy during the Christmas season, promising laughter throughout. While featuring some recognizable faces, the majority of the cast consists of fresh talents who have the opportunity to shine in this production.

The writing team for the first four episodes includes Ifeanyi Barbara Chidi (Diiche), Donald Tombia, Fatimah Binta Gimsay (MTV Shuga), and Great Opara. Xavier Ighorodje himself is credited with the final episode. Stephanie Dadet directs the series, produced by Mary Nsikanabasi Uyoh. The show features a talented ensemble cast, including Eva Ibiam, Osarehia Oronsaye, Moet Abebe, James Gardiner, George Nanakwesi, Phebe Adah, Korexx, David Eyo, Oscar Chihurumnanya, Bisola Aiyeola, Blessing Nze, Atteh Daniel, Bryan Okoye, Shalewa Ashafa, Caleb Richards, and Princess Obuseh.

Principal photography, led by Da'Anong Dwain, wrapped up on May 31, 2023. "Anatomy of a Predator" is an Ogbono production, with Chukwuka Osakwe from Camroll Pictures Studio handling the Behind-the-Scenes images.

The official release date for the series is yet to be announced.
