President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima have been honored with the highest national recognitions in Nigeria, just four days before they officially assume their duties.
Tinubu received the prestigious Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR), a title typically reserved for Presidents, while Shettima was granted the second highest national honor, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
The awards were presented by outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari during an investiture ceremony at the State House in Abuja on Thursday morning.
