El-Rufai denies seeking Chief of Staff position in Tinubu's cabinet

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has denied reports that he is vying to become Chief of Staff in the incoming cabinet of President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu.

Speaking to newsmen while in Gombe to inaugurate the construction of 550 housing units and the Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS) Service Centre, El-Rufai dismissed the rumours as "mere speculations".

He emphasized that he was more focused on contributing to Nigeria's development rather than seeking political positions.

The governor stated that he would remain committed to the country's progress even if he was not in government.

El-Rufai also said that he had not had any discussions with the president-elect about a role in his government. Upon leaving office, he plans to take a break and make himself available to provide advice where needed.

Regarding Tinubu's presidency, El-Rufai expressed optimism, saying Nigerians would not regret voting for him as better days were ahead.
