Naira Marley Detained by Police in Connection with MohBad's Case



Controversial musician Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command. Naira Marley voluntarily presented himself to the authorities upon his return to Nigeria but was taken into custody the following day.

His detention is related to the ongoing investigation into the untimely demise of another artist, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as  MohBad, who tragically passed away on September 12th. 

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed this development on his verified social media account.

Hundeyin posted, "Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been detained for questioning and further investigative procedures."

Before his detention, Naira Marley, who heads Marlian Records, had publicly announced his return to Lagos, Nigeria, with the intention of cooperating with authorities in the ongoing probe into MohBad's death, who was once signed to his record label.

In his statement, Naira Marley expressed, "I'd like to inform you that I've just returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to support the authorities in their ongoing investigation. It's crucial for me to play my part for Imole. I will be meeting with the police in the hopes of uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice prevails."
