"PDP's Rejection of Tribunal's Verdict Sparks Tension, Citing Specific Grounds"

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has voiced its strong disapproval of the recent ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), which upheld the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential election. Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, expressed the party's dissatisfaction, asserting that the tribunal's decision contradicts the presented facts and evidence by the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

In an official statement released on the party's Twitter page, Ologunagba contended that the judgement appeared to rely heavily on technicalities and failed to provide substantial justice. He stated, "The Judgement is against reason, against the facts and evidence presented in Court; against the relevant Electoral Laws, Guidelines and Regulations as well as the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended). Indeed, the Judgment is generous in technicalities and very short in delivering substantial justice in the matter."

Furthermore, Ologunagba disclosed that the PDP, in consultation with its legal team, is currently assessing the tribunal's judgement and will soon determine its next course of action in response to this development.
