In the midst of nationwide protests, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) counterpart, Festus Osifo, held a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.
After spending about 30 minutes inside the Villa, the labour leaders emerged, stating that the President had made commitments to address pressing issues that require immediate attention.
They announced that they would present these commitments to their executive committees for further consideration. The ongoing protest would be discussed, and a decision would be reached during the Labour's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday. All the relevant matters will be taken into account during this crucial meeting.
