IPOB Declares Mondays as "Economic Empowerment Day" in South-East to Counter Sit-at-Home Effects

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced that Mondays will now be observed as an "Economic empowerment day" throughout the South-East region. The decision comes as a response to the adverse effects of the prolonged sit-at-home protests in the area.

In a statement released by IPOB's spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group expressed its aim to mobilize resources and efforts to reverse the economic, educational, and social decline caused by the sit-at-home orders. The move follows the total cancellation of all forms of sit-at-home as stated in Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's handwritten letter, which was made public through his counsel, Alloy Ejimakor, a few days ago.

During the designated "Economic Empowerment Day," Biafrans are encouraged to focus on empowering the educationally disadvantaged and economically vulnerable population within the region. The group emphasized the importance of education, employment, health services, a sense of identity, and community support in the efforts to restore the region's prosperity and growth.

IPOB clarified that Kanu's handwritten letter was not written under duress or any external influence, dismissing any doubts about its authenticity. They urged the people to adhere strictly to the new schedule to make up for the lost time due to the unsanctioned Monday sit-at-home orders.

The group further emphasized the need for unity and concerted efforts to rebuild the Eastern region and reclaim its once-envied glory.
