Senator George Akume has been officially appointed as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) by President Bola Tinubu.
In a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Akume took his oath of allegiance and oath of office in the presence of several dignitaries, including current and former governors, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Senate President Ahmed Lawan.
Among those who witnessed the event were also Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, and the wife of the newly appointed SGF, Mrs Regina Akume.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday morning, precisely at 11:06 am, in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
