Former Governor Fayemi Detained by EFCC for Alleged N4bn Fraud

Former Ekiti State Governor and ex-Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi, is currently being interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged misappropriation of N4 billion.

The EFCC operatives in the Ilorin zonal command have been questioning Fayemi since Thursday afternoon.

According to a detective at the EFCC headquarters, Fayemi responded to the invitation and is expected to be released either tonight or tomorrow morning after providing explanations.

The spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed Fayemi's presence but refrained from commenting further on the matter.
