The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and All Progressives Congress (APC) have clashed over the broadcasting of the proceedings at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The PDP and LP believe that live telecasts would ensure transparency and fairness, while the APC argues that it would not serve the cause of justice.
The PDP and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, filed an application for the live transmission of the court proceedings to allow Nigerians to have firsthand information.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the president-elect, and the APC opposed the application, considering it frivolous and beyond the jurisdiction of the tribunal.
The court is set to rule on the matter today.
Supporters of the LP candidate also called for a live broadcast, with several hashtags trending on social media.
A petition demanding the live broadcast has garnered over 9,222 signatures.
The Chief Spokesman for the dissolved Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council emphasized that the matter should be left to the court's decision rather than public opinion, urging patience for the final verdict.
