Insights Surface from Tinubu-Gowon Meeting

Former Nigerian leader General Yakubu Gowon has encouraged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu's administration as it tackles the country's numerous challenges. He emphasized that it's premature to expect instant solutions to all the issues inherited across various sectors.

Speaking after a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Gowon acknowledged the criticisms faced by leaders but affirmed his belief that the government is earnestly addressing the nation's problems. He stressed the importance of granting the President ample time to effect substantial changes, cautioning against premature judgments of the administration's performance.

Additionally, Gowon disclosed that discussions with President Tinubu also revolved around the challenges confronting the ECOWAS subregion, underscoring the necessity for amicable resolutions to these issues. He clarified misunderstandings regarding his absence from an ECOWAS-organized event, attributing it to miscommunication and affirming his commitment to engagements aimed at regional stability and progress.
