Karma Automotive Unveils Stylish Kaveya Coupe and Charts Course for Future Endeavors

The Kaveya, an exquisite electric coupe set to debut in 2025, is part of a strategic move by the California-based automaker, Karma Automotive, which plans to introduce two distinct models before the arrival of the two-door variant. Henrik Fisker, renowned for his design work with BMW, Ford, and Aston Martin, has returned with his second eponymous company, following the successful launch of the Fisker Ocean SUV this year.

The Karma sedan, originally conceived as the Karma Revero after Fisker Automotive's 2013 bankruptcy, has continued its legacy under the ownership of Karma Automotive since 2017. Renamed the GS-6 in 2021, the sleek sedan now shares the spotlight with the newly unveiled Kaveya coupe, representing the first of three pillars in Karma's survival plan for the 2020s.

Recently revealed in Las Vegas, the Kaveya is a striking machine with a length of 187.7 inches, slightly longer than an Aston Martin DB12, and a 107.0-inch wheelbase, which is approximately three inches shorter. Boasting a curb weight of 5300 pounds, the coupe features an aluminum space frame adorned with carbon-fiber body panels, delivering a smooth and glossy exterior. Notable design elements include thin headlights, taillights, and subtle slashes serving as cooling vents and aerodynamic channels.

The Kaveya will come in two versions: a rear-wheel-drive base model with 536 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive variant with a staggering 1000 horsepower and 1270 pound-feet of torque. The latter is projected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds, achieving a top speed exceeding 180 mph. Fueled by a 120.0-kWh battery, the coupe claims a range surpassing 250 miles, with a 45-minute recharge time from 10 to 80 percent. The 536-hp model is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the more powerful version is slated for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Karma also teased the return of the Revero, formerly the GS-6, featuring a design reminiscent of the original Fisker Karma. The rear-wheel-drive sedan, set to make its comeback in the third quarter of the following year, will showcase a range-extender hybrid setup, generating 536 horsepower and 708 pound-feet of torque. With a total range of 360 miles and a zero-to-60-mph time below four seconds, the Revero will utilize a 28.0-kWh battery, providing 65 miles of range on electric power alone.

While the GSe-6 electric variant was initially in development, it has been replaced by the Gyesera, a fully electric sedan from Karma. Targeting a range greater than 250 miles, the Gyesera is expected to produce 590 horsepower and 693 pound-feet of torque, achieving 0 to 60 mph in under 4.2 seconds and a top speed over 135 mph. Slated for launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, the Gyesera shares dimensions with the updated Revero, albeit with a 257-pound weight difference and limited details about the cabin, except for an 11.6-inch infotainment screen.

Karma aims to provide comprehensive details about the Gyesera next year, and while anticipation is high, observers are cautiously optimistic about the automaker's ability to fulfill its ambitious promises in the coming years.
