In accordance with details from the recently approved N2.18 trillion 2023 supplementary budget, the Federal Government has earmarked a sum of N15 billion for extensive repairs on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. Simultaneously, the government has confirmed a debt owed to the contractors responsible for the Eko/Marine Bridges, totaling N11.4 billion.
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, has officially announced the upcoming closure of the Third Mainland Bridge for a five-week repair period, commencing on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Kesha further elaborated, stating that the repair work will commence with the ramps connecting Oworoshoki to Adekunle and Lagos-Island (Adeniji Adele) to Adekunle, and both ramps will be closed to traffic starting at 7 am on Monday, November 6, 2023, for the duration of the five-week repair period. Motorists are urged to cooperate with traffic management officials, follow diversions as directed, and make use of the alternative routes provided during this time.
