Tinubu Designates Three New Ministerial Nominees for Senate Confirmation



President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted three additional ministerial nominees to the Senate for their confirmation. The nominees are Dr. Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas, and Olawale Olawande.

According to NTA, Balarabe Abbas, hailing from Kaduna State, is among the new ministerial nominees. Abbas currently holds the position of Secretary to the Government of Kaduna State and was initially appointed by Governor Nasir Elrufai, retaining his role under Governor Uba Sani.

On September 17th, President Tinubu granted approval for the appointment of Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State as the Minister of Youth, pending Senate confirmation. Additionally, the President authorized the nomination of Olawale Olawande from Ondo State as the Minister of State for Youth. This information was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim is described in the statement as a young medical doctor who most recently held the position of President of the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF). She also served as Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mr. Ayodele Olawande, the Ondo State nominee, has been chosen to serve as the Minister of State for Youth, pending Senate confirmation. Mr. Olawande previously served as a youth leader within the ruling All Progressives Congress and is an expert in community development. He also had prior experience in the presidency, having served as the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023 during the administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Tinubu has urged these new nominees to uphold the dynamism, innovative spirit, and unwavering dedication characteristic of Nigeria's young people as they carry out their duties.
