The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has issued a verdict demanding the withdrawal of the Certificate of Return previously awarded to Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the March 18 gubernatorial election in the state. Instead, the certificate will now be given to David Umbugadu, the candidate representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is declared as the legitimate victor of the election.
In a decision that was divided, with two members of the three-man Tribunal, led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, in favor of the majority judgment, Umbugadu has been affirmed as the rightful winner of the governorship election in Nasarawa State.
