Lagos Mob Inflicts Severe Beating on Policeman Involved in BRT Bus Crash



In the Ketu area of Lagos State, a distressing incident occurred where a man identified as Yusuf was hit by a BRT bus after allegedly being pushed by policemen. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the policemen were attempting to dispossess Yusuf of his vehicle when the unfortunate event unfolded.

Eyewitnesses stated that the policemen were responsible for Yusuf's ordeal, and their actions led to him being pushed onto the BRT lane. Consequently, an incoming BRT bus collided with Yusuf, causing him to collapse due to the impact.

One of the eyewitnesses, who preferred to remain anonymous, asserted that the police were to blame for the incident, and Yusuf suffered varying degrees of injury as a result. Another eyewitness, who hastily spoke with our correspondent amidst the chaotic scene, revealed that after realizing Yusuf had been hit by the BRT, the policemen attempted to flee. However, an angry mob managed to apprehend one of them and subjected him to a beating until he lost consciousness. Despite being injured, the policeman was still breathing.

People at the scene rushed to help Yusuf, who was lying motionless on the BRT lane. They poured water on him in an effort to revive him. Meanwhile, policemen from the Ketu Divisional Police Station arrived to restore order, and they also attempted to aid their injured colleague, whose uniform had been torn in the violent encounter with the mob.

The incident sparked outrage among onlookers, who blamed the policemen and their actions for causing the accident. Yusuf's injuries were significant, with a deep cut observed on his right arm. He was quickly taken in a vehicle for urgent medical treatment.

The policemen from the Ketu Division arrived to bring calm to the situation, and the unidentified officer, who had been beaten by the mob, was also rushed to the hospital for treatment. As of now, the identity of the beaten policeman remains undisclosed.
