DSS Apprehends Manager of Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Following Leak of Memo

The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken into custody Pascal Nnorli, the Manager of Abuja-Kaduna Train Services, in connection with a leaked memo forewarning a potential terror strike on the Abuja-Kaduna railway. Alongside Nnorli, Victor Adamu, the Operations Manager, and several other employees have also been apprehended, as disclosed by an undisclosed but dependable source within the Nigerian Railway Corporation.

The incident revolves around a security alert issued by the DSS to the Nigerian Railway Corporation last Wednesday, cautioning against an imminent attack by bandits on the Abuja-Kaduna train route. The warning, signed by R.N. Adepemu, Director of the DSS FCT Command, urged passengers to remain vigilant regarding their safety.

According to the NRC source, the arrest took place last Thursday, with both managers, Nnorli and Adamu, being detained. Subsequently, Victor Adamu was released, with his detainment likely being a result of being present in Pascal Nnorli's office when the sensitive memo was discovered. The source revealed that the memo was specifically addressed to the NRC's Managing Director and explicitly mentioned the possibility of arrests if the information were to become public.

Although the reasons behind the arrests remain unclear, the source believes that the leak of the memo might have prompted the actions by the DSS. It is suggested that the memo, which contained crucial information regarding the planned attack, was deposited in Pascal's office, leading to its inadvertent disclosure and subsequent circulation.

Fidet Okhiria, the Managing Director of the NRC, refrained from providing comments when approached regarding the situation.
