Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu against sending unfavorable messages regarding his stance on corruption. Falana expressed his concern by highlighting the presence of individuals facing corruption charges within the Aso Presidential Villa.
During his address as a guest at the 60th anniversary celebration of Aare Afe Babalola's call to bar in Ekiti State, Falana urged the president to spearhead an anti-corruption campaign. He emphasized that Nigeria, being the most populous black nation on the planet, should rightfully assume its deserved position among the global community.
Falana pointed out the distressing reality of high-ranking public officials embezzling funds intended for the construction of hospitals, leading to fatalities on the nation's roads. He further revealed that some individuals frequenting the presidential villa were currently undergoing trials for plundering the nation's treasury. Falana emphasized the need to avoid sending erroneous messages both to the Nigerian populace and the international community.
