According to sources from ESPN, Chelsea has come to an agreement with Mauricio Pochettino to become the new coach of the club. Although a contract has not been signed yet, transfer options for the upcoming summer are already being discussed.
The Daily Mail reports that the club is looking to sign a new striker, midfielder, and goalkeeper, while also offloading players to balance the books.
Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan as their new striker.
However, a move for Napoli's Victor Osimhen is likely to be problematic since Chelsea has already committed to signing Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig for £63 million.
In midfield, the Blues are still keen on West Ham United's captain Declan Rice, but they will face competition from Arsenal.
They are also interested in Brighton & Hove Albion's Alexis Mac Allister, who is being monitored by Liverpool as well. Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez is an option for the goalkeeper position.
Regarding current Chelsea players, Pochettino will try to convince Mason Mount to stay at the club beyond his current contract that ends in 2024. Pochettino will also talk to Romelu Lukaku, who is on loan at Inter Milan, to assess whether he can be part of the team next season.
Pochettino will bring his usual coaching team, including assistant Jesus Perez, to Stamford Bridge but will officially start his new role at the end of the season.
