Arnold Schwarzenegger Expresses Heartfelt Appreciation for 'Action Hero' Bruce Willis

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the iconic action star, has expressed his admiration and support for his long-time friend Bruce Willis. 

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Schwarzenegger praised Willis as a fantastic actor and a kind-hearted individual who will always be remembered as a great star. He acknowledged Willis' retirement due to his health conditions, including aphasia and dementia, but emphasized that action heroes never truly retire, they simply reload.

Schwarzenegger and Willis have been friends for decades and dominated the action genre alongside Sylvester Stallone. 

In 1991, they even ventured into the restaurant business together by launching the Planet Hollywood chain. Fans had long yearned to see them share the screen, and their wish came true in 2010 with the release of "The Expendables," which spawned a successful trilogy featuring a star-studded cast of old and new action heroes.

However, in March 2022, Willis' family announced his retirement, disclosing his aphasia diagnosis and expressing gratitude for the support they received during this challenging time. 

In February 2023, they revealed that Willis' condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia. Despite these health challenges, Willis' family highlighted his commitment to using his platform to raise awareness about important issues and connect with others facing similar struggles.

Schwarzenegger, known for his advocacy work on steroid misuse by young athletes, has shifted his focus to another pressing issue—global warming. 

In a recent interview on CBS's "Sunday Morning," he discussed his crusade to combat climate change by addressing pollution. 

He emphasized the importance of reframing the conversation around climate change to highlight its connection to pollution, which poses a threat to both the environment and human health. Schwarzenegger sees this mission as a way to promote a healthy body and a healthy Earth.
