Renowned Nigerian transgender and fashion aficionado, Daniel Anthony Nsikan, widely known as Jay Boogie, has recently voiced his distress following a botched plastic surgery procedure.
On Wednesday, Jay Boogie took to his social media accounts to alert the public, specifically singling out a surgeon named Dinma from Curvy Girl Essentials, whom he held responsible for the dire situation.
Through a series of posts on his Instagram story, the transgender individual shared photographs and pertinent information about the doctor and the clinic that performed the surgery.
In his plea for help, he stated, "Please, I have a medical emergency. This surgeon wants to kill me. If anything happens to me, it is Dr. Dinma from Curvy Girl Essentials. This hospital and doctor are responsible if anything happens to me."
This ordeal is deeply distressing for Jay Boogie, who had previously undergone breast surgeries and was preparing for gender reassignment surgery, as disclosed in a recent interview with BBC Pidgin.
In response to his predicament, Jay Boogie's friends have initiated fundraising efforts online, appealing to his followers and compassionate Nigerians to contribute funds to facilitate his transfer to an alternative medical facility for improved care.
The distressing situation prompted concerns from Loveth Jennifer, a Nigerian doctor residing in Namibia, who also took to Instagram to draw attention to the failed surgery. Ms. Jennifer revealed that Jay Boogie was in critical condition and had been unable to urinate for 24 hours following the surgery.
She further alleged that the surgeon had left Jay Boogie in an unfamiliar hospital and was attempting to suggest that the crossdresser had pre-existing kidney issues.
Jay Boogie is a prominent figure in Nigeria's crossdressing community, sharing the spotlight with well-known individuals such as Bobrisky and James Brown. His educational background includes Methodist Comprehensive High School in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, and Akwa Ibom State University in Uyo. He initially gained recognition as a makeup artist and the proprietor of Jay Brushes, rising to prominence on social media in 2019.
