The recent incident in Ekpoma, Edo State, where a police team ran over a civilian, has been strongly condemned by the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun. The IGP has expressed his disapproval of the disturbing event and has taken immediate action.
The policemen involved in the incident have been placed in detention in Edo State, and they have been directed by the Acting IGP to report to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Monday. Further actions will be taken against the erring officers.
In a statement released on Friday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, urged the public, especially the residents of Ekpoma, to remain calm.
