On Thursday, November 23, the Abuja Court of Appeal upheld the election victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule in Nasarawa state, overturning the tribunal's decision that initially nullified the Nasarawa governor's election, as reported by Vanguard. The ruling deals a blow to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, David Ombugadu. Governor Sule, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious in the March election.
In the judgment delivered by a three-member panel led by Justice Uchechukwu Onyemenam, the court declared that the tribunal made a legal error in its determination that Governor Sule did not secure the majority of votes in the election, as outlined by Channels Television.
The court further emphasized that Governor Sule was unfairly deprived of a proper hearing during the tribunal proceedings.
