The Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms has been officially established.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took the initiative to inaugurate this committee, outlining their anticipated responsibilities. The inaugural event took place at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, August 8, according to a report by The Punch.
According to details shared by NTA News, President Tinubu expressed during the unveiling, "It is no longer tenable to impose taxes on the impoverished when our objective should be fostering prosperity."
The primary objective of the tax reform committee is to carefully assess the existing fiscal policies and tax regulations within the nation. Subsequently, the committee is tasked with formulating recommendations to enhance these policies for the greater benefit of the populace.
