President Bola Tinubu is currently leading his inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) session as head of his administration at the Council Chambers within the State House in Abuja.
Having taken the oath of office last Monday and subsequently gaining Senate confirmation as mandated by the constitution, the newly-appointed cabinet members have officially assumed their roles. Among the 45 ministers who successfully navigated the screening process, three individuals faced rejection during the clearance procedure.
Notable attendees of the event include Vice President Kashim Shettima, George Akume, who holds the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the federation, and Femi Gbajabiamila, who serves as the Chief of Staff to the President.
During the ministers' swearing-in ceremony, President Tinubu placed significant emphasis on their fundamental responsibility: restoring public trust in the government, thereby rekindling the populace's confidence in the efficacy of responsible governance. He further encouraged the newly-appointed officials to execute their duties with unwavering integrity and dignity, underscoring the expectation that they will fulfill their roles diligently. The President stressed his commitment to holding them to the elevated standards that the Nigerian people anticipate and deserve.
