Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL) and Nigeria Police Renew Partnership to Enhance Security at MMA2

Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL) and the Nigeria Police, Airport Command, have recently extended their collaboration to enhance safety and security at the Murtala Muhammad Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2). 

The Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, CP Ebong E. Ebibwa, along with his team, visited the terminal to formally renew the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations, which has been in effect for over 16 years. BASL's Senior Management Team, led by Acting Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Tosan Duncan, highlighted the importance of this partnership in ensuring secure air travel and fostering economic prosperity for the state and the nation.

Among the BASL staff present during the visit were Blessing Ewah, Head of Operations; Monica Oguta, Head of Aviation Security (AvSec); Tinuola Dapo-Awosika, Head of Human Resources; Oluwatosin Onalaja, Head of Corporate Communications; Nofisat Adeniran, Head of Safety; Oluremi Jibodu, Head of Aeronautical and Cargo Services; Chidoka Uchechukwu, Head of Technical Services; Kola Bamigboye, Head of Space and Premises; Gbubemi Aibangbee, Head of Marketing; and Mr. Abiodun Odude, a former Commissioner of Police and Chief Security Officer to BASL.

During her address, Duncan commended the police officials for their unwavering commitment to maintaining high-level security within and around the terminal. She also acknowledged the support provided by the Nigeria Air Force in upholding this commendable overview. Duncan emphasized the significance of creating a safe and peaceful environment for businesses and individuals to thrive. She expressed BASL's willingness to support the Nigeria Police on other developmental initiatives, extending beyond the scope of the MoU. BASL actively engages in addressing Nigeria's socio-economic challenges through human capital development and strategic partnerships with both state and non-state actors.

CP Ebibwa reassured BASL of the police command's unwavering support and addressed the concerns raised by the company during his visit. He emphasized the importance of safety and security in the aviation industry and affirmed the police's dedication to providing their professional expertise. Retired CP Odude also stressed the importance of the renewed partnership, highlighting its positive impact on the residents and surroundings of the Ikeja central business district of Lagos. The visit aimed to strengthen the cooperation between BASL and the Nigeria Police Airport Command, with the new Commissioner leading the efforts. Both BASL and the Nigeria Police are committed to sustaining and improving security measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the terminal's users and stakeholders.
