President-elect Tinubu Holds Meeting with Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair Ahead of Inauguration



President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair at the Defence House in Abuja on Tuesday, ahead of his upcoming inauguration on Monday. 

Tinubu took to his official Twitter handle to share the news, expressing that he had a productive discussion with Blair on matters of shared interest.

In his tweet, Tinubu stated, "I received former British Prime Minister and founder of the Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance, Mr. Tony Blair, at the Defence House, Abuja, earlier today. 

We discussed areas of mutual interest and how Nigeria can continue to benefit from the amazing work of the Institute."

During Blair's visit, notable figures such as Vice President-elect Kasim Shettima and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, were also present. 

Blair is renowned for establishing the Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance.

Tinubu's inauguration is scheduled for May 29, and it has been announced that a delegation from the United States, led by President Joe Biden, will be attending the event in Abuja.
