Journalist Rufai Oseni accuses NBC of double standards

Rufai Oseni, a well-known journalist in Nigeria, criticized the Nigeria Broadcast Commission (NBC) for what he considers a "double standard."

Oseni took to Twitter on Thursday to express his surprise that the NBC had not yet released any statements about the Nigeria Television Authority's (NTA) role in the illegal declaration of the Adamawa gubernatorial election result.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, Hudu Yunusa, had declared Binani the winner of the State election illegally, and the NTA had covered it. However, the electoral commission promptly denounced the announcement and suspended the collation of results of the supplementary election.

Oseni accused the NBC of double standards, claiming that if it were another station, the NBC would have sanctioned the station the next day.
