Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has denied acquiring a property in the United States with stolen funds.
Keyamo confirmed that the property belongs to him and that he purchased it with money he made from his legal practice.
He explained that he baited people who are sore losers from the last election by posting a video of his vacation in "one of my properties abroad" while working out. He also stated that he had informed the relevant government agencies about the closure of his foreign accounts and the repatriation of the funds to the country.
The Minister further clarified that the foreign funds were lying in his accounts until he was appointed Minister in 2019. Keyamo laughed off the trending issues and called them laughable since he has been practicing law for 30 years and can afford the property.
He added that he has been underrated because he chose to live a simple and modest life and has not been given to the ostentatious display of wealth.
Keyamo further stated that his law chambers and real estate investments are still more financially profitable than serving Nigeria. He concluded by saying that some people don't need government funds or patronage to get by.
