The rebranding of Showmax aims to deliver an affordable and captivating entertainment experience. Central to this refresh is the introduction of the groundbreaking Showmax Premier League plan, tailored specifically for mobile users and priced at an accessible N2,900. Additionally, two other plans, Showmax Entertainment mobile and Showmax Entertainment plan, were unveiled, catering to diverse preferences.
Among the highlights of the evening was an exclusive screening of the recently acquired film, "Dead Serious" — a romantic comedy directed by Moses Inwang. The movie features a star-studded cast including Sharon Ooja, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu (Sabinus), Nkem Owoh, Lilian Afegbai, and more. "Dead Serious" is set to premiere exclusively on Showmax on Friday, February 23, 2024.
The launch event welcomed prominent figures from Nigeria's entertainment industry, gracing the black carpet with elegance and style. Notable personalities such as Tunde Kelani, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ego Boyo, Kunle Remi, Bisola Aiyeola, Uti Nwachukwu, Ruby Okezie, Hawa Magaji, and Beauty Tukura were in attendance, among others.
Guests showcased their fashion prowess, donning stunning attire ranging from vibrant red-pink and orange to classic black, echoing the colors of the new Showmax logo.
Bolanle Olukanni and Hawa Magaji, the hosts of the event, captivated attention with their impeccable fashion choices. Faith Morey, known as the 6ft Amazon goddess of the Real Housewife of Lagos, made a striking appearance in an elegant white ensemble, while Sabinus opted for a dapper look, deviating from his usual "blue shirt and tie" attire. The evening was a testament to both style and substance, with attendees making bold statements on the red carpet and setting new trends.
