Hip-Hop Artist Kodak Black Apprehended on Charges of Cocaine Possession

American rapper Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, is facing legal troubles once again as he has been arrested in South Florida. The 26-year-old artist was taken into custody on Thursday for charges including cocaine possession, evidence tampering, and a violation of his existing probation.

The arrest occurred at approximately 3 a.m. in Plantation, where Kodak Black was discovered asleep in a Bentley with drugs in his possession, according to a statement from the police.

Following the arrest, Kodak Black was held in custody at Broward County jail. However, NBC Miami has reported that he managed to secure his release on bail on Thursday night.

It is noteworthy that in January 2021, former U.S. President Donald Trump commuted Kodak Black's 46-month prison sentence. The rapper had been convicted of falsifying information on federal forms to purchase firearms. This commutation took place on Trump's last full day in office.

Kodak Black's legal history includes a previous seven-month stint in a Florida prison, where he faced charges of marijuana possession, child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additionally, he has faced charges such as weapons possession, armed robbery, sexual assault, probation violations, and fleeing from officers in the past.
