The Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba has ordered the return to custody of an auxiliary nurse who was arrested by the police in connection with the controversial death of hip hop artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. Nurse Fisayo Ogedengbe, 37, has been accused of administering injections that allegedly led to the singer's demise.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun also ruled that Mohbad's friend, Ayobani Sadiq, who is considered a suspect in the case, should be returned to police custody.
However, the magistrate granted bail in the amount of N20 million to both Mohbad's former boss, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and a Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry. Both Naira Marley and Sam Larry had been implicated in Mohbad's death and were taken into police custody on October 6. The bail conditions include providing three responsible sureties, with one of them owning a landed property. Additionally, the defendants are required to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Magistrate Olatunbosun also issued a warning against any direct contact regarding the case, stating that any attempts to do so could be recorded and potentially disclosed during open court proceedings.
The investigation into the case is still ongoing, as confirmed by the police. Consequently, Magistrate Olatunbosun adjourned the case until November 29 for legal advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
