The Court of Appeal in Abuja has decided to postpone its judgment in the case brought forward by Abba Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State. He is contesting his removal by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
This tribunal had previously ruled on September 20th, invalidating 165,663 of Abba Yusuf's votes. The reasoning behind this decision was the absence of signatures and stamps from the Independent National Electoral Commission on the ballot papers. As a result of this ruling, Nasiru Gawuna, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, was declared the winner of the gubernatorial election.
Unhappy with the outcome, Abba Yusuf decided to appeal the tribunal's decision, urging the Court of Appeal to overturn the judgment.
