The Presidential Transition Council (PTC) has distanced itself from the program of events for the upcoming presidential inauguration currently being circulated on social media.
In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, Mr Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of PTC, described the document as fake.
Mustapha further stated that the inauguration committee of the council had already made significant progress in its preparations for a peaceful and orderly transfer of power on May 29th.
He also revealed that the council would unveil the approved program of events at a World Press Conference scheduled for May 18th.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation also cautioned against the spread of false information and urged purveyors of fake news to refrain from misleading the public.
The events for the week leading up to the presidential inauguration are set to begin on May 22nd.
